STEPANAKERT. – Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) President Bako Sahakyan signed decrees on awarding with state awards and conferring honorary titles, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the proclamation of the Artsakh republic.

According to the decrees, seven individuals were awarded with Battle Cross Order of the 1st Degree; one—with the Battle Cross Order of the 2nd Degree; nine were awarded with the Medal For Courage; and 267 individual—with the Medal For Service in Battle, one of them posthumously, for their bravery and courage shown during the defense of the NKR state borders and combat actions for the defense of the motherland.

In addition, a group of state, public and political figures of Artsakh, Armenia and foreign countries, active participants in the Artsakh national and liberation struggle, Karabakh War veterans, diplomats and philanthropists were awarded with state awards. Accordingly, eight individuals were awarded with the Grigor Lousavorich Order, one of them posthumously; eighteen persons were awarded with Mesrop Mashtots Order; eleven individuals—with the Mkhitar Gosh Medal; sixteen individuals—with the Vachagan Barepasht Medal; twelve individuals—with the Anania Shirakatsi Medal; and 78 persons and four organizations were awarded with The Gratitude Medal.

Also, NKR honorary titles were conferred to a group of people, and in recognition of their substantial contribution to the development of science, culture, art, health care, and economy.
