YEREVAN. – The injustice, which was served against Republic of Armenia (RA) national Olympic team Greco-Roman wrestler Migran Arutyunyan in Rio 2016, left no one apathetic. People, and not solely Armenians, got angry and wept over what had occurred, according to Zhoghovurd newspaper.

“The NOCA [i.e. the National Olympic Committee of Armenia] and the RA Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs must do everything so that the judges of Arutyunyan’s [gold-medal] bout [, in which he was robbed of the gold medal,] are banned.

“Speaking to Zhoghovurd, RA Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Gabriel Ghazaryan assured that they have not discarded the idea of appealing the judging at Migran Arutyunyan’s bout.

‘“The [Armenian Olympic] team has come [back from Rio]. A consultation will be held soon just with this regard, and our steps will be very clear and very harsh. I confidently say: The [Armenian] state stands with the athlete,” said the minister,” wrote Zhoghovurd.
