YEREVAN. - Memorial service for Hrachya Tamrazyan, Director of the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts (Matenadaran), took place in Saint  Sarkis church of Yerevan on Monday.

Relatives, friends, colleagues and intellectuals, as well as politicians came to bid him goodbye.

The funeral will take place on Tuesday. 

Hrachya Tamrazyan died on September 2.

Tamrazyan, Doctor of Philological Sciences, had been heading the institute since 2007. He was an author of numerous monographs and articles.
