The alliance between Russia and Turkey is of a situational and tactical nature.

Expert of the Anatoly Sobchak Fund, Sergey Stankevich, who is also the Party of Growth council member, said the aforementioned at the press-conference organized by Region Research Center for Armenian media outlets, responding to the Armenian News – NEWS.am question as to whether he sees perspectives for the Russian-Turkish cooperation in Syria and how realistic is the temporary agreement between Moscow, Ankara and Damascus aimed at the struggle against Kurds in Syria.

According to Stankevich, the end of the Syrian conflict will become the decisive test. “In particular, Turkey’s support in blocking the Syrian-Turkish border on Jarablus-Azaz line .  If the cooperation on the Syrian issue based on mutual concessions fails, the rapprochement will be replaced with chill in relations.  If it is a success, Russia will think of the further forms of partnership,” he stressed.
