The Prime Minister of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan resigned due to the July events in Yerevan, the French newspaper Le Parisien writes.

In August, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan promised to make radical changes and call a government of national accord after about 20 gunmen, who had seized the [Erebuni] police station, surrendered, the newspaper reports.

Hovik Abrahamyan announced his resignation on Thursday. The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) has already named his successor, who will be Karen Karapetyan.
