YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper has learned that, aside from the amnesty to be declared on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence, President Serzh Sargsyan intends to grant individual pardons to several prisoners to whom the amnesty will not apply.

“According to the news, [some of] those sentenced to life in prison also will be among those to be granted pardon.

“Pardon will be granted also to those former soldiers sentenced for murder who are imprisoned since the age of 18, and have served sentences for ten years and more,” wrote Zhoghovurd.
