Nagorno-Karabakh Republic National Assembly (NKR/Artsakh NA) Chairman Ashot Ghoulyan on Saturday received a delegation led by Arman Tatoyan, Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Armenia.

The Artsakh parliament speaker appreciated the activities of the Ombudsman’s institutions in both Armenia and the NKR, and described them as leading institutions in the region.

The human rights defender of Armenia, for his part, noted that there are visible accomplishments in Artsakh, in terms of human rights and the dynamic activities of democratic institutions.

Subsequently, Ghoulyan  and Tatoyan discussed the avenues for the development of democratic institutions, the mechanisms for the protection of human rights and civil liberties, and the ongoing constitutional reform process in the NKR.
