The CIS [i.e. the Commonwealth of Independent States] countries wish to keep the commonwealth as a full-fledged international organization; we don’t need parallel organizations, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia. 

“We have approached the 25th anniversary of the CIS, with practically a shared view,” stated the Russian president. “In my opinion, this is the most important [thing] from the viewpoint of the results of the need for keeping the CIS as a full-fledged international organization.

“Everything that prevents from moving forward, everything that bureaucratizes and works for the benefit of its—in this case, the so called international bureaucracy, needs to be transformed and to take other forms that will be aimed at the solution of concrete problems facing our countries.”

Armenia is also a member in the Commonwealth of Independent States.
