YEREVAN. – As a result of the measures taken by the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia, several attempts of drug trafficking have been prevented.

About 140 grams of drugs were found, whose 123.36 grams being methamphetamine, SRC informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

A considerable part of these attempts of drug smuggling were prevented at the Meghri checkpoint, on the border with Iran.

And the illegal drug traffickers are primarily Iranian citizens. 

The aforesaid methamphetamine, however, was found in the possession of the passengers of a vehicle in capital city Yerevan.

Pursuant to the Criminal Code of Armenia, a minimum of 1.5 grams of methamphetamine are considered a particularly large amount.
