The former head of France counterintelligence Bernard Squarcini is arrested, reports the AFP. The reason of the arrest is not disclosed. According to the source, the former Squarcini is a close friend of Nicolas Sarkozy, who is  running for 2017 presidential elections.

BFMTV TV channel reports that the head of Paris criminal police Christian Flush has also been arrested. His house was searched. In 2013 Flush was accused of  warning the former Minister of the Interior Brice Ortefe that he was going to be questioned about illegal financing of Sarkozy's election campaign.
