U.S. does not have information on non-compliance of the Azerbaijani-Iranian projects, including the energy sector, the requirements of U.N. Security Council Resolution 1929 on Sanctions Against Iran.

This was stated by Deputy Minister of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Stuart Levey in Baku, Azeri news agency APA writes.

As reported earlier, NEWS.am, 9 June 2010 the UNSC adopted the Resolution 1929, containing sanctions on Iran. Sanctions, in particular, prohibit the sale of a number of conventional weapons to Iran, as well as limit the investment opportunities in the country.

Note that the four companies, the Dutch and the British Shell, French Total, Italy’s ENI and Norway’s Statoil have agreed to stop investing in Iran. Thus the refueling of Iranian aircraft in Europe has become impossible.

Due to the sanctions, Russia refused to sell S-300 anti-aircraft missile system to Iran as well.
