U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch commented on the improvement of Armenia-Iranian relations in an interview with the Haykakan Zhamanak daily: “While looking at the map, it is obvious Iran is Armenia’s neighbor and it has been of great importance in recent years, as Iran provides one of the two open borders of Armenia. This cooperation is of great significance in terms of trade and energy.

Meanwhile, the U.S. official stressed: “We expect the UN members states, including Armenia will be committed to UN resolutions and sanctions against Iran."
