The progress in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement will become a key moment for normalizing the Armenian-Turkish ties, Russian FM Sergey Lavrov said on Friday, RIA Novosti reports.

“If Armenia and Turkey suddenly return to the implementation of their agreements with regard to the Karabakh conflict, we will be only happy, but we feel that the progress in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will be the key point for normalizing the Armenian-Turkish relations,” Lavrov told journalists.

He also noted that another important factor is that Turkey can play a positive role in ensuring “unblocking of Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia, as well as normal interaction in the region: economic, logistic, transport and infrastructure.”
