YEREVAN. - President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Monday received Russian Minister of Internal Affairs Vladimir Kolokoltsev, who has arrived in Armenia to attend the 17th session of the United Board of the Armenian Police and Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. 

Both sides underscored the importance of the close cooperation between the Armenian and Russian law enforcement authorities, specifically referring to the subsequent session in the format of the united board of the Armenian Police and Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. 

Touching on issues related to ensuring security and counting different expressions of organized crime, the Armenian President attached importance to joining the efforts in that direction, as well as to holding regular specialist meetings.

According to him, the gradually growing danger of terrorism in the world, arms and drug trafficking, as well as other expressions of crime are serious challenges for security,  and countering them requires continuous cooperation.

For his part, Russian Minister of Internal Affairs thanked for hosting the subsequent session of the United Board in Armenia, noting that the high-level political dialogue between Armenia and Russia, as well as the arrangements reached between the presidents of two ally countries oblige to deepen the cooperation in this area, working in a climate of mutual trust and sincerity.
