Armenia-U.S. friendly partnership gained new impetus, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said at the Armenian National Assembly on October 20. The evidence thereof are Obama-Sargsyan meeting, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s visit to Armenia, as well as visits of numerous delegations and joint projects.

According to him, Armenia-EU cooperation also raised to a new level. The prospects for facilitation of visa requirements with EU states, creation of a free trade zone, program on Armenia’s association membership to EU, implementation of various projects in different spheres testify to the fact. Nalbandian stressed Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visited 19 European countries and the leaders of these states paid a return visit to Armenia. He referred to visits of different delegations and high ranking officials as well.

The Minister underscored Armenia’s foreign policy greatly intensified. Armenia normalized relations with a number of countries and developed bilateral contractual underpinnings with them. Besides, Armenia opened five new Embassies in Spain, Uzbekistan, Kuwait, Brazil and Japan. Two Embassies; in Czech Republic and Netherlands will open in November or December this year. Besides, Armenia is a member of 86 international agencies, Nalbandian concluded.
