Turkish Premier Recep Erdogan accused the European Union (EU) of the stalemate in the negotiations for Turkey’s admission to the EU.
Following his meeting with Prime Minister of Finland Mari Johanna Kiviniemi in Helsinki, the Turkish Premier voiced his bitter disappointment over the negotiation process. No country has ever waited for negotiations to complete so long, the Turkish Premier said. Turkey started negotiations with the EU five years ago. However, they reached a stalemate because of Cyprus, Yle.fi. reports.
During his visit to Finland, the Turkish Premier also held meetings with President Tarja Halonen and Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb.
