VANADZOR. – Along the lines of his working visit to Lori Province of Armenia, President Serzh Sargsyan on Saturday paid a visit to the construction site of the new medical complex of Vanadzor Medical Center.

Sargsyan also toured the buildings of this medical facility in Vanadzor, the third largest city of Armenia.

In addition, the President was informed that considerable improvements are expected to be made in the quality and accessibility of medical services to the entire population of the province and neighboring regions, and on location.

The provincial officials raised the matter of supplying medical specialists—which Lori Province needs—also to this new medical complex, once it is put into operation,

Serzh Sargsyan, in turn, instructed those in charge of Armenia’s healthcare sector to discuss this matter, and to find an effective solution for the country’s modernized medical centers that have a similar problem.

As part of the modernization program, an investment of about 6.6 billion drams (approx. US$ 13,888,050) is planned to be made at Vanadzor Medical Center.

Its main building will be provided with medical equipment and furniture within the framework of a loan program by the World Bank.
