YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia is expecting a GDP growth of up to 3.2 percent in the country in 2017, as compared to 2016, and primarily the services’ and the industry sectors will contribute to this growth.

The Minister of Finance, Vardan Aramyan, on Monday noted the abovementioned speaking at the National Assembly hearings on the draft state budget for next year.

In his words, Armenia’s economic growth in 2015 was mainly due to the growth in the exportable sectors of its economy; mostly in agriculture and industry. In addition, the services increased, whereas construction reduced in that year.

Aramyan added that a 2.4-percent economic growth was forecast in 2016, but capital investments decreased in 2015, a 2.3-percent real growth in investment is expected in 2016, whereas a 2.2-percent real decrease in investments is expected in the coming year.
