make preferableYEREVAN. – The information technology (IT) sector is virtually non-existent in the recently publicized action plan of the Government of Armenia.
Hayk Chobanyan, Deputy Director of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) of Armenia, stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Monday.
In his words, this means that the country has deep systemic problems, and perhaps the most critical one from them is the absence of a clear strategy toward IT development.
“The process of IT development has no alternative in Armenia,” noted the UITE official. “It is apparent that any of the foregoing messages are not reflected on the government action plan.”
As per Chobanyan, the IT sector in Armenia is at a phase where it cannot succeed without national or state participation, since the respective competition now is not within a country, but between countries.
