YEREVAN. – Even though Armenia is transitioning to a parliamentary model, this will not apply to the powers of the President and the funding of his staff in 2017.

Head of the Presidential Administration, Armen Gevorgyan, on Tuesday told the above-said to reporters in the National Assembly.

He recalled that, according to the amendments to the Constitution, the parliamentary election with the new system of governance will be conducted in April next year, but the incumbent President will retain his current powers until the end of his tenure; that is, until April 2018.

“Accept this concept,” Gevorgyan urged.
