Reconnaissance Troop Day in Armenia was celebrated Saturday at a special military unit of the Armed Forces. 

The event brought together Minister of Defense Vigen Sargsyan, Chief Movses Hakobyan of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, high-ranking military officers, veterans of the reconnaissance forces, and relatives of the reconnaissance servicemen.

In his congratulatory remarks to these servicemen, Minister Sargsyan noted that it is thanks to these special units’ performing their tasks with honor and devotion that numerous plans of the adversary have failed.

“After the hostilities in [early] April [i.e. when Azerbaijan had unleashed a military aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh)], we live in a new reality,” added Sargsyan. “We now have chosen (…) the road of creating and manufacturing the more modern [weaponry] and the higher technology [military equipment].”

The celebratory event continued with demonstrations by the reconnaissance units of the Armenian army. 

At the end, several servicemen of the reconnaissance troops were encouraged with the Ministry of Defense medals, nominal gifts, and certificates.
