The meeting of the U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and President Barack Obama lasted for almost an hour and a half, AP reports.

By the end of the meeting, Trump stated that he hopes to work with Barack Obama in the future as well. He called this meeting a "great honour," noting that they hadn’t met up to now.

In his words, they “discussed a lot of different situations - some wonderful and some difficulties." Trump stressed that the meeting was scheduled to last for an hour, but it lasted for almost 90 minutes and “could've gone on for a lot longer."

For his part, Obama said that the conversation was "excellent" and "wide-ranging." According to the President, he had been "very encouraged" by Mr Trump's interest in working with President Obama's team on issues important to the country. Obama also added that now the most important thing for everyone is to be together.
