Facebook is ready to revise rules for submission of advertising and to refuse targeting on racial or ethnic grounds, The New York Times reported.
A month earlier, it was reported that the social network suggests advertisers to select audience based on ethnic or racial grounds, that in language of Facebook sounded as “an ethnic community”. As it turned out, this potentially breaks laws on the civil rights.
It is noted that such approach to search of audience is most urgent in advertising of housing, employment and credit services. Facebook said in a blog, that it will demand now from advertisers not to be engaged in discriminating advertisings in above-mentioned areas.
