YEREVAN. - The insurance payments are not designed for the servicemen, who died in non-military conditions.

Defense Minister of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan stated the aforementioned in the parliament on Monday, speaking at the debate on the bill on paying 1000 AMD to servicemen’s insurance fund.

Responding to the question of MP Elinar Vardanyan, Sargsyan noted that if the a serviceman has died in non-military conditions (for instance, during an incident in a military unit), his relatives have an opportunity to launch a civil action, whereas the relatives of servicemen who died in positions have nowhere to turn to.

''Of course, social support is provided in this case as well, but its amount should be different than in cases when the soldier dies in military positions,'' the Defense Minister noted.
