YEREVAN. - What will be done for Armenian children to be able to speak three languages?
Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan asked the aforementioned to Education and Science Minister Levon Mkrtchyan at the consultation Tuesday.
Mkrtchyan presented the radical amendments to the Law “On Higher Education,” the Government press-service informed Armenian News – NEWS.am.
He also reported on that upon Karapetyan’s instruction, the law has been supplemented with provisions aimed at raising the transparency of director elections and radical unloading of high school curricula. Apart from this, upon the PM’s instruction, experimental courses of electronic telecommunication are held in schools every week.
In the upcoming months, significant changes are expected in this sphere as well. Measures are also being taken to include in the educational system such subjects as business education and social entrepreneurship.
Referring to his expectations from the educational field, Karapetyan also asked the following questions: “What will be done for the higher education to conform to international norms? What measures will be taken for the elections of school directors to be held properly? What will be done for deserving people to manage this system? What will be done for Armenian children to be able to speak three languages? What will be done for children living in villages not to get detached from education?”
