YEREVAN. – The Empowering Ideas: Startups and Development Global Forum got underway Monday in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia (PHOTOS).

At the event, US Embassy in Yerevan Public Affairs Officer Jacqueline Deley said the IT sector and entrepreneurship are very important for Armenia. She added that being a small and isolated country, Armenia has always relied on its intellectual capital and educated society, and now, it endeavors to promote economic development by way of technological and entrepreneurship development.

IT specialists from Israel, the US, the Netherlands, Poland, Moldova, and Georgia also delivered remarks at the forum.

In addition, global success stories were presented, with the focus being on the importance of a creative technological culture for the development of the economies of countries.

The Empowering Ideas: Startups and Development Global Forum was organized with the support of the US Embassy in Yerevan.

The partners of the forum are the Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF) and the Gyumri Technology Center (GTC).
