YEREVAN. – The National Assembly of Armenia on Thursday passed—in the third reading, and in full—the bill on compensation for the damage caused to the lives or health of military servicemen while defending the country, and the accompanying draft laws.

The bill was adopted with a vote of 84 for, 4 against, and one abstention.

Pursuant to these laws, an additional 1,000 drams (about US$2) will be deducted from the monthly salaries of people working in Armenia. This deduction will be transferred to a fund that will make insurance payments to the disabled soldiers, and families of the fallen military servicemen of the country.
