The gunman who killed the Russian Ambassador to Turkey at a photo exhibition in Ankara was a Turkish police officer.
The assailant has been identified as an Ankara police officer Mevlüt Mert, born in 1994. Turkish T24 website reports.
After killing the diplomat Mevlüt Mert was shot dead by the police, who had arrived at the scene.
