The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the assassination of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov. It assured that ''a comprehensive investigation will be conducted and those guilty will be held accountable," the official statement issued by the Turkish MFA reads, TASS reports.

It is also informed that despite the diplomat's assassination the visit of the Turkish FM Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to Moscow, in the framework of which a meeting is scheduled with his Russian and Iranian colleagues over Syria, will take place.

The Turkish MFA noted that FM Çavuşoğlu learnt about the incident while aboard a plane to Moscow, Turkish media outlets reports.
