Turkish generals boycotted traditional reception organized by President Abdullah Gul on the occasion of Turkey’s Independence Day. They decided to organize reception in another place.
Country’s Prime Minister Recep Tayip Erdogan voiced criticism over generals’ conduct, noting that they had to celebrate this day in the presidential residence.
It was the first ever reception where Abdullah Gul was accompanied by his spouse Hayrinusa Gul.
