On the evening of Thursday, January 5, the Armenian Apostolic Churches celebrate the Armenian Christmas Eve Candlelight Divine Liturgy.  
Mayor Taron Margaryan of Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia, was among those in attendance to the Christmas Eve candlelight service offered at Saint Sargis Church.


At the end of the Christmas Eve Candlelight Divine Liturgy, the faithful light candles or lanterns from the church lanterns, and take them home to illuminate their places residence. This symbolizes the Divine light, blessing of the church, and the light of the Star of Bethlehem that led the Magi to Baby Jesus.
