Poet, translator and journalist Anahit Bostanjyan has died in Tbilisi on January 8.

Bostanjyan was born in 1949 in Tbilisi. In 1972 she graduated from Gyumri State Pedagogical Institute (GSPI) named after Mikael Nalbandian in Armenia. Since 1988, she held a position of the editor-in-chief of the almanac " Kamurdzh" ("Bridge"). She was  the author more than 30 books, translator of numerous works of the Georgian literature.

Bostanjyan was a member of the Writers' Union of Armenia and Georgia, where she led the newly opened Armenian section.
