Israel must apologize to Mexico for supporting the U.S. President’s plans to build a wall on the Mexican border, Mexican FM Luis Videgaray said on Monday, Reuters reports.
Earlier, the Israeli government stated that Netanyahu’s tweet concerned the specific security experience of Israel, not being its position on the relations between U.S. and Mexico.
Nevertheless, Luis Videgaray considered such an explanation insufficient, noting that the Israeli government needs to clarify and "correct" its position.
"It's obvious he was referring to the relationship with Mexico, and we should be serious and assume responsibility for what we say," he said, adding that Israel is the "close friend" of Mexico.
"It's absolutely incomprehensible that its prime minister should express himself in this way, which frankly we consider an aggression," Videgaray added.
