The court of Hamburg has upheld the ban on the journalist Ian Byomerman’s satirical publications about the Turkish president Erdogan. The host of ZDF TV has been banned to repeat the passages of poetry, especially the ones that has a sexual subtext, concerning Erdogan, reports DW.

At the same time, the court refused to fulfill Turkey's demand to completely ban Byomerman’s satire. ZDFneo channel broadcasted Byomerman’s mockery on March 31, 2016. Ankara has immediately required a prosecution of the host, accusing him of insulting Erdogan. The German government launched an investigation against the journalist, which became a reason of disputes within the ruling coalition and the opposition parties, and a sharp criticism of the German Union of Journalists.
