A  Georgian delegation led by Minister of Finance Vakha Baindurashvili has arrived in Armenia to discuss the schedule of modernizing the customs stations at the Armenian-Georgian border. During his recent visit to the Armenian-Georgian border RA President Serzh Sargsyan underlined the need for such a schedule.

At his meeting with Chairman of the RA State Revenue Committee Gagik Khachatryan, Minister Vakha Baindurashvili expressed hope for efficient bilateral cooperation.

He reported that the two countries’ Presidents have discussed the necessary proposals and measures, and the Georgian delegation arrived to discuss the work schedule. “I would like this cooperation between the Armenian and Georgian customs services to be an example for the regional countries. Discussions at the government level are under way, and we are launching the construction of a border complex next month,” Minister Baindurashvili said.

Chairman of the RA State Revenue Committee Gagik Kachatryan underlined the importance of Armenian-Georgian cooperation in modernizing customs stations. He also pointed out the need for harmonizing the two countries’ laws. “I am sure that our businessmen and other citizens will soon appreciate the results of reforms,” he said.
