YEREVAN. – Since vote rigging at election precincts in Armenia has become harder, now there is a total “attack” on people.

Aram Manukyan, secretary of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) National Assembly Faction, on Wednesday told the aforesaid to reporters in Parliament.

“Since [election] fraud has decreased at the [election] precincts because the publicizing of the [voters’] lists and the video recording of the whole process has made the work of the falsifiers difficult, [now] they have attacked on the people,” he said.

Also, the opposition MP reflected on the US ambassador’s message that the political parties in Armenia refrain from the attempts to buy votes.

“The EU and the US have a desire to see fair elections [in the country],” stressed Manukyan. “The US Ambassador’s interview is very clear. The ambassador is sending a message to the political parties: Be careful when distributing election bribes. This, naturally, refers to the [incumbent] authorities; this is not only a warning, but a hint for the next steps.”
