STEPANAKERT. - Starting from 11:25 am Wednesday, the Azerbaijani armed forces have continued violating the ceasefire regime on the Artsakh-Azerbaijani contact line, firing 10 shells in the direction of Armenian position-holders from 60 and 82 mm mortars, SPG-9 recoilless guns and GP-25 grenade launchers.

As a result of the shelling initiated by the adversary, contact serviceman of the Artsakh Defense Army, Nver Babajanyan (born in 1980), suffered fatal shrapnel wound in the southeast (Martuni) direction of the contact line at about 4:50 pm.

According to the Defense Ministry of the Artsakh Republic, investigation has been launched to ascertain the details of the incident.

The Defense Ministry shares the grief of the loss and extends its support to the soldier’s family members, relatives and fellow servicemen.
