Iran's missile program is designed to ensure the security of the country. This was stated by the Head of the Center for Strategic Research Center of Iran's Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati, reports IRNA.

Velayati stressed, that Iran doesn’t need a permission from other countries to ensure its own security. " The way we are going to defend ourselves is not the US business, " he said. According to him, Iran's missile program is for defense purposes only. It is “important for the country's defense and has an impressive history behind.”

Velayati also said that, Iran will take all the necessary steps for self-defense and will conduct a missile test, when necessary. "Instead of doing something good for the American people, the new US president seems to be trying to divide the people and sow dissension and enmity between the peoples of the world," he said.
