The US president's new immigration order will add to refugees’ anguish.  

This was announced by the UN High Commissioner on Refugees Filippo Grandi. 

He recalled that refugees are ordinary people who have survived wars and persecution. They need protection and assistance. The High Commissioner warned, that the order of the new US president, even temporarily, will only exacerbate the suffering of the people to whom it applies. Filippo Grandi stressed that it is everyone’s duty to protect those who are under threat of survival.

The High Commissioner stressed, that the United States is a long-standing partner of the UN in resolving refugee problems. According to him, the US served as an example of helping refugees and proving them shelters. Today, when the number of displaced reached record levels, a similar act of humanity is needed as never.

Note, that Trump's new order temporarily prohibits the admission of refugees, from six countries to the US. The prohibition does not apply to those who have already received a visa or a temporary residence permit.
