YEREVAN. – Former member of Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party, MP Zaruhi Postanjyan, is going to form a new political platform; Postanjyan herself stated this at a press conference on Wednesday.

“We are founding a new political platform with a group of citizens, [and] which will consolidate all Armenians,” she said. “Today, our compatriots are deprived of the full use of their political rights, and they don’t have a full opportunity to participate in the political life of Armenia.

“Today, there are many people who can’t participate in elections, since they are scattered all over the world.”

In the MP’s words, even though a lot is said about how to engage Diaspora Armenians in the development of Armenia, the respective political rights are not given to them.

“For this reason, the initiative group of the new political force will aim to solve this problem,” she added. 

In Zaruhi Postanjyan’s words, the inaugural congress of this initiative will be convened on March 15, during which the name and program of this new political force will be made public.
