The world's largest cement producer LafargeHolcim company announced about its readiness to build a wall on the US and Mexican border. This project suggested by the US President turned into a diplomatic scandal between the two countries, reports RFI.

"We are the number-one cement group in the United States... we are here to support the construction and development of the country... We are not a political organization," said the head of LafargeHolcim Eric Olsen in an interview with France Press. Olsen ensured, that LafargeHolcim in not involved in politics and has no political position; its main goal is to serve the customers.

The company's participation in this project has raised mixed reactions, especially by politicians. The French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault urged to think twice before selling cement for the construction of the wall. Meanwhile, another cement producer, the Irish company CRH, has already announced that it will not provide construction materials for the wall.
