On March 10 Germany's Constitutional Court has ruled, that the federal government has the authority to ban the Turkish speeches in Germany. Neither the provisions of German law, nor international law allow the leaders of foreign countries to enter Germany to perform their official duties, unless it has been agreed with the federal government.
“The campaigns of the Turkish politicians in Germany are not prohibited as such. It’s all about preserving the German laws and norms,” said Deputy Foreign Minister of Germany Zigmar Gabriel.
