YEREVAN. – One MP in the parliament decides nothing, he is just pressing a button, leader of Tsarukyan alliance Gagik Tsarukyan said during his campaign rally on Monday and urged to vote for a political force.
According to Tsarukyan, the socio-economic situation in the country is constantly deteriorating, the population is under pressure of loans with a high interest rate. At the same time, one can see “hope in the eyes of people” during meetings with voters, Tsarukyan said during his meeting in Ashtarak, a small town in Aragatsotn province.
“One of our first decisions, if we win, will be to increase pensions by 25,000 drams, which will require 100 million dollars a year. I am sure that if the living conditions are improved, at least 70-80% of emigrants will return to their homes,” Tsarukyan said.
By reiterating his assurances that he does not need money and posts, the leader of the alliance complained about political opponents who are trying to deceive voters with fiery speeches. Gagik Tsarukyan urged not to trust speeches, but deeds, however not specifying what he means.
The next were campaign pledges to lower the rates of loans to 2-5%, the implementation of a comprehensive program of economic recovery based on the reduction of taxes, tax exemption for small and medium-sized businesses. Tsarukyan also accused the voters of the difficult social and economic situation prevailing in the country, explaining that many people vote guided by persuasions of certain acquaintances.
“No new programs are needed, we know about all the problems, we just need to restore what we had in the Soviet times. Russia and the Arab countries are a big market. It is necessary to create conditions for people to work and export products. Moreover, our fruits and vegetables are one of the most environmentally friendly in the world,” he added.
