President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan's ended the first day of his official visit to Russia by meeting with Moscow-based Armenian doctors and students at the Armenian Embassy in Russia. The meeting was also attended by the Leader of the Russian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Yezraz Nersissian. 

In the welcome speech addressed to the meeting participants, the  President noted that he is proud of the fact that Armenian doctors residing in Moscow are true to their vocation and continue having large input in the development of healthcare, being ready to unite in favor of the homeland in difficult times. In this context, Sargsyan recalled that last April—during the period difficult for Armenia and Artsakh—the Armenian doctors residing in Moscow came for help and stood by young soldiers, providing medical aid and therefore moral support.

Sargsyan also referred to the Armenian-Russian cooperation formed and successfully developing in the healthcare sphere. At the meeting, the participants presented their proposals on strengthening the Armenian-Russian relations, including the deepening of Armenian-Russian in the healthcare sphere. Furthermore, upon the proposal of the President, they expressed their views on the ongoing processes in Armenia. 

In the evening, Serzh Sargsyan had a meeting with Russian political figure Sergei Stepashin at the Armenian Embassy. The Armenian President bestowed Order of Honor upon Stepashin for his significant contribution to the deepening of cooperation between Armenia and Russia, as well as for strengthening and developing the Armenian-Russian friendly relations.
