Russia continues to support in every way in searching for mutually acceptable solutions to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict both within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group and during the direct contacts with Yerevan and Baku.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated the aforementioned at a joint briefing with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan in Moscow on Wednesday.

Sargsyan, for his part, noted that at the meeting with his Russian counterpart special attention was attached to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement and creation of necessary conditions for advancing the negotiation process.

“We highly appreciate the efforts of Russia and other OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs towards the exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict. The importance of implementing the open-ended tripartite ceasefire agreements of 1994-95 was reiterated and the need for implementing the agreements reached in Vienna and St. Petersburg was underscored. We both agree that the threat to use force and its use are unacceptable and harm the peace process,” Sargsyan stressed.
