YEREVAN. – Several dozen residents, who were treated unfairly by Glendale Hills company, blocked Tigran Mets Avenue in downtown Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

The residents are demanding that those in charge from the government come to them and say when they will get the apartments which are their due, and for which they had paid money, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informed from on location.

These residents blocked traffic at the aforesaid avenue for several minutes, but police forcibly brought them out of the road.

In 2004, the detached houses on Buzand and Lalayants streets—in downtown Yerevan—were declared eminent domain and demolished, but with a promise that their residents would be compensated within three years, at the latest.

Even though the developer, Glendale Hills, had signed a respective contract with these residents, few have received compensation, whereas the rest are forced to live on rent to this day.
