According to the daily’s sources, Serzh Sargsyan intends to appoint Chief Military Inspector and Presidential Advisor Mikael Harutyunyan to the post of Chief of General Staff of Armenian Armed Forces, whereas Yuri Khachaturov, the current chief of General Staff will be appointed RA Chief Military Inspector. Thus, the RA President is tying to reduce tension by those supporting Khachaturov’s resignation. After the replacement, Khachaturov’s financial income will decrease, despite the fact that his position will be higher than the post of Chief of RA General Staff.

According to the newspaper, Khachaturov has, in private, recently expressed his discontent that he is considered to be guilty in the present situation in the army. According to him, he inherited the current situation in the Armenian army from Mikael Harutyunyan.
