Azerbaijan tries to dictate its conditions, as it is discontent with the OSCE Minsk Group decision, saying Karabakh peace process will be over when Baku recognizes Karabakh’s status, Giro Manoyan, Head of the Hay Dat (Armenian Cause) office, ARF Dashnaktsutyun told NEWS.am, commenting on Azeri leader Ilham Aliyev’s statement the conflict can be solved based on international law, resolutions on Karabakh adopted by international agencies.

According to him, in this regard, Azerbaijan tries to shift the conflict resolution to another format, referring to UN Security Council’s resolution. “Disregarding the fact that, under the U.N. resolutions, the OSCE Minsk Group is dealing with the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Azerbaijan is seeking to get the process to take a different course. Prior to the Astana meetings, Azerbaijan wants to create an impression that its stance is constructive,” Manoyan said.

As for the international community’s inadequate response to Azerbaijani provocations, non-conforming to Baku’s commitments and regular ceasefire violations, Manoyan said: “We should understand there are no people conducting a regular monitoring in the line of contact of

Armenian and Azerbaijani armed forces. We know ourselves who breaks the truce. However, it is difficult for them to sort it out. However, if the point is sniper, UN Secretary General is well aware that it is necessary to suspend snipers’ activities.  Meanwhile, the Azerbaijani side perfectly realized UN Secretary General spoke of it.”
