More websites and apps all over the web are likely to incorporate more virtual reality pieces, Edgar Aroutiounian, US-born coder now living in Armenia, told Armenian News – NEWS.am, at the BarCamp 2017 Yerevan IT forum.

Edgar, who runs a startup called Resquared, thinks that certain demand may come from Armenia as well. So medicine and tourism sites and apps are demanding more visual experience, and VR may be their best choice.

 “There’s a lot or low-hanging fruit which can be picked up. In Armenia, Wings of Tatev (cable car to the medieval monastery) could do that. Medial apps will be better off. And remote conferencing is there too,” he said.

Users can get a deeper immersion through VR glasses, but increasingly more people can afford it. Today, they cost around $120, which is cheaper than a lot of other entertainment devices, he added.

In Aroutiounian’s view, React will stay the most demanded tool to build VR content anytime soon.

BarCamp 2017 Yerevan, a two-day IT event, was supported by Ucom, one of the largest telecom operators in Armenia.
