Russian President Vladimir Putin and Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Tuesday discussed on phone the situation round Qatar.

During the conversation, the sides discussed the issue of Russian-Qatari cooperation, first of all in the trade and economic and investment spheres.  In this context, the interlocutors highly appreciated the results of the session of the bilateral Inter-governmental Committee held in April 2017.

Putin confirmed the principled stance of Russia in favor of the normalization of crisis situation through political and diplomatic methods and dialogue.
